During his 28-year career at Swinerton Builders, he rose from carpenter to COO, and managed the construction of $20 billion in commercial and multifamily real estate. Built over 5000 Multifamily Units and developed over 100 MW of Solar Projects. Designed Solar Lab at Stanford University, and was a founding member of the Oakland Green Jobs Corp.

Spreadsheet wizard with broad financial expertise and experience, spanning corporate financial management, community economic development, and renewable energy finance. Derek is the primary financial manager and transaction specialist for the company. He develops financial models and Energy Service Agreements that incorporate energy efficiency measures, solar PV and thermal, and energy storage. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from San Diego State University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Managed teams of 40+ MEP and HVAC tradesmen constructing 1 million sq/ft concrete buildings for companies such as Magnavox and Panasonic. Has provided solar solutions for thousands of units of multifamily housing, commercial, LEED, and net zero projects, with over 20 years experience in Design - Build contracting.

Oversees project engineers and works closely with city Building & Safety, Electrical, Fire, Plumbing, and Mechanical departments. Was born and raised in SF and cares deeply about team health; his three daughters; and the people and planet we all share.

Manages field crews, project sites, and installations of solar photovoltaic and hot water systems. Responsible for hiring, sourcing new equipment solutions, managing supplies, inventory, and project billing. Lives a gluten-free lifestyle, and loves to sail and scuba dive in his spare time.

He is an engineer by training, starting his career at a consulting firm tackling transportation design and traffic analysis before he made his way into residential solar designs and engineering. Out of the office, Kevin is snowboarding, playing basketball, or going on adventures with friends.

Seasoned solar professional with over 22 years of installation and technical experience. Has installed a variety of solar projects ranging from residential pool and hot water systems to large commercial scale and high-end residential PV systems. NABCEP Certified, with experience working on cogeneration projects for the military and has significant field experience, from leading installation crews to construction management. When it comes to his work, Solar Thermal is not just a job, it’s his passion.

Analyzes complex multifamily and commercial projects and creates sustainable energy solutions for client portfolios based on case-by-case energy needs. With a background in Studio Art and a focus on sculpture and sustainable design, he considers himself a lifetime student of urban design and architecture. In his spare time, he enjoys walking the urban fabric and musing about a sustainable future. Currently resides in Portland, Oregon.

Passionate clean tech and sustainability advocate whose main responsibility is to support the Operations Department in permitting and site energy analysis. Works closely with city Building and Safety departments to manage the building permit process and conducts site surveys to assess energy needs for existing rehab projects. Originally from Washington State, he is an avid aviation enthusiast, surfer and traveler.

Provides back-end support to the sales and operations departments in various aspects, including energy analysis, product build-out, rebate assistance, and internal organization. Was part of numerous sustainability groups at UCLA, including on campus LEED assessment group and Sustainability Action Research Teams.
