As CA marches toward Net Zero, significant increases in Energy Efficiency and Renewables are being required on all new projects. At the 2014 Municipal Green Building Conference and Expo, Promise Energy convened a panel to explore how is LEED is evolving to stay ahead of the new CA Code. We compared the two standards side by side, and offered examples, case studies and strategies for successfully designing projects that will meet and beat the new code.
We included energy experts, architects, engineers, and renewable energy specialists in an engaging discussion that presented both the big picture, and the specific details. Timothy Kohut is a well-respected local green building expert and advocate, and a regular speaker at USGBC-LA events including MGBCE. Jennifer Berthelot-Jelovic, is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the USGBC Los Angeles Chapter, as well as energy modelers and architects. Moe Fakih from VCA Green, and Ruby Rose Sanchez from Partner Energy are both leading Title 24 and LEED consultants.
